A community rooted in faith, grounded in love, reaching the world
Gereja Kristen Jawa (GKJ) Imanuel Jakarta has its roots in the 1970s, when a small group of Javanese Christians settled in the capital city of Jakarta and longed for a community of faith where they could worship together in their mother tongue and cultural traditions.
From those humble beginnings, the congregation grew steadily over the decades, becoming a vibrant multi-generational church that now serves hundreds of families across greater Jakarta. We have expanded our worship services to include both Indonesian and English-language gatherings, welcoming believers from every background.
Today, Imanuel Jakarta Church continues to be a place of refuge, growth, and mission — a community that honours its heritage while embracing the future with open arms, guided by the timeless truth of Scripture and powered by the Holy Spirit.

The calling that drives everything we do
To be a flourishing community of transformed disciples who reflect the character of Christ, fill the city of Jakarta with His love, and make His name known to the ends of the earth.
To worship God wholeheartedly, equip every believer for ministry through the Word, build authentic community through fellowship, and reach our city and the world through compassionate service and evangelism.
Honouring God with heart, soul, and mind in every gathering
Deepening faith through Scripture, prayer, and discipleship
Building genuine relationships through community and care
Extending mercy and justice to our city and beyond
What we believe at the core of our community
We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God — the supreme standard for all faith and practice.
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — equal in essence, nature, and glory.
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, sinless life, atoning death, bodily resurrection, and His coming again in glory.
We believe that salvation is a gift of God's grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone — not by human merit or works.
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit who indwells, empowers, and equips every believer for godly living and effective service.
We believe in the universal Church — the body and bride of Christ — and in the importance of belonging to a local community of faith.
We believe in the personal, visible, and glorious return of our Lord Jesus Christ to judge the living and the dead and to consummate His kingdom.
We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost — the saved to eternal life with God, and the lost to eternal separation from Him.
